When Billy Met Alasdair @ Edinburgh Fringe 2025

Here we go, folks! Tickets for my new Edinburgh Fringe show WHEN BILLY MET ALASDAIR are now LIVE, and I’m very excited! It’s been named by The Guardian as one of their “Must See” plays of The Edinburgh Fringe 2025, and has been called by The Times “a captivating new play”.

Design by Doug Summers

In my first solo show (that isn’t a Moira Monologue) since 2013, I’ll be playing both Billy Connolly and Alasdair Gray in a story based on the famous photograph by George Oliver, about the day that Connolly attended the launch party for Gray’s Lanark in 1981.

It’s directed by Kirstin McLean, who some of you might know from Limmy’s Show, and is on at the Scottish Storytelling Centre from 31st July-24th Aug (excluding 1st, 6th, 8th, 13-14th & 20th-21st) at 8.30pm.

31st July is the preview (cheaper tickets!), you can get a 2-4-1 deal on 4th & 5th Aug, and there’s a special Captioned performance on 7th Aug.

This play derives from a commission by The Alasdair Gray Archive and Glasgow International Comedy Festival, for which I am very grateful. It’s already been covered by The Sunday Post:

Hopefully see yous there for the Big Yin and the Wee Yin! Link for tickets here.
